Nakuru and Kisumu Trade Fair PDF Print E-mail

GDC participated in the annual Nakuru and Kisumu ASK exhibition which was held from 8th to 11th July 2010 and 28th July to 1st August respectively . The fair gave GDC an opportunity to create awareness about geothermal energy development in Kenya. The public easily interacted with our team who also seized the opportunity to explain about the GDC mandate and role in the country’s energy sector. The GDC staff took the show attendees through the processes of generating electricity using geothermal steam.

 
Egerton Career Fair Exhibition PDF Print E-mail

GDC exhibited in the Egerton University Career Fair which was held from 6th -9th April 2010 at the university grounds in Njoro. The aim of the fair was to introduce GDC to the students and the faculty; highlight our mandate and career opportunities at GDC. The fair also highlighted research opportunities available for partnership between Egerton University and GDC.
Dr. Peter Omenda (Chief Manager Resource and Development) made a power point presentation on GDC’s mandate to a packed auditorium. The GDC team also interacted with the students who were enthusiastic and interested in geothermal energy development and the career opportunities available.

 
Regional Geothermal Stakeholders’ Workshop PDF Print E-mail

GDC sponsored a field tour to some of Kenya’s geothermal sites during the Regional Geothermal stakeholders’ workshop held on 15th-17th March 2010 at the Sarova Panafric, Nairobi. The conference organized by the Africa Union, created awareness of geothermal potential in Eastern Africa and attracted over 11 countries within the East Rift system. The Workshop was sponsored by BGR (Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural resources Germany) in partnership with Kenya’s ministry of Energy. Participants included observers from EU and development agencies.

 
ACEK Conference and Exhibition PDF Print E-mail

GDC exhibited during the conference organized by the Association of Consulting Engineers of Kenya (ACEK) exhibition at Sarova Whitesands from 14th -17th March 2010. The conference was officially opened by Right Hon Prime Minister Hon. Raila Odinga who is an Engineer.  The Prime Minister visited the GDC stand and expressed confidence that GDC will provide a solution that will power this country towards the realization of Vision 2030.  Mr. Cornel Ofwona-, the Area Manager North Rift who is also the Reservoir Engineering Manager was at hand to explain to the P.M GDC’s core business, its mandate as well as the geothermal process.  The conference was attended by consulting engineers from Africa who were impressed by GDC’s achievements in the short period the company has been in operation.
